All I can say is that I fell for the meme in 2022 cuz of the bald man, don't regret it though.
As of now the computer has just recently come to be used as a daily machine, so I have yet to upgrade this machine aside from the already small SSD that it shipped with. With SSD prices through the roof these days, I doubt I will be buying one anytime soon unless I really do start reaching my limits with the already small 250GB I have on here. However, the x220 and machines of this age use DDR3 RAM instead of the now insanely expensive DDR4 memory of today (thanks AI), so I should be bumping this thing up from 4GB to 16GB in no time.

SOTRAGE:2TB SATA SSD and a 2TB HDD
GPU:RTX 2060
I built this machine back in 2018 and it has served me well as a daily driver and gaming PC ever since. However there were some... initial difficulties upon the first few years of using this machine.
At the time I was rather undeducated about computers and left most of the part selection to a friend from school who knew better, I set a strict budget of $1000 and for some reason I wasn't willing to go any further than that. The 2TB HDD was what I went with because I guess it let me stay just right under the budget (stingy I know), and I was completely unaware of the night and day difference of an SSD when it came to loading applications or the OS.
I ended up with the impression that I must have had some sort of malware because of windows consistently trashing my disk usage (its bloated trash anyway). Eventually I found out hosting the OS on an SSD would be a million times faster and it has been snappy ever since... I guess that's what you get when you are stingy.
I do plan on migrating from windows to either Mint or Arch. I had attempted to do so around 3 years ago and ran into some furstration getting the OS to even detect mu GPU. However, from what I hear NVIDIA support on linux and particularly mint has greatly improved since then so I am currently planning another migration. If nothing avails, I will just switch to AMD and not look back...
